Greenville Greenwave JV Loses Lead Early in Defeat
Greenville Greenwave JV watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-2 loss to Butler on Tuesday.
The Greenville Greenwave JV struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Butler, giving up 12 runs.
Butler opened up scoring in the first inning, when Butler scored one run on a stolen base.
Butler scored five runs in the fourth inning. Butler offense in the inning was led by Forbes, Kohler, and Case, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Joynes got the win for Butler. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking zero. #23 threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. #23 recorded the last ten outs to earn the save for Butler.
Ethan Flanery took the loss for Greenville Greenwave JV. He allowed eight hits and eight runs over three innings, striking out two.
Connor Mills led Greenville Greenwave JV with one hit in one at bats. Greenville Greenwave JV stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Andrew Speer led the way with three.
Butler racked up 12 hits in the game. Forbes, Tuttle, Case, Echman, and Kohler each collected multiple hits for Butler. Butler tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Echman led the way with five. Butler was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Forbes had the most chances in the field with eight.
